What it is

danceWEB Europe was a three-year European network project from 2002 to 2005 aimed at promoting dance creation and distribution at a European level. It was implemented by danceWEB in Vienna together with partners including the Centre chorégraphique national de Montpellier (France), Southbank Centre (United Kingdom), Ultima Vez (Belgium), and IFIR (Sweden). The project carried out scholarship programmes, contemporary dance co-production programmes, touring programmes, and multimedia programmes. During 2002-2005, 593 artists from 53 countries participated in network activities and reached at least 5 million visitors interested in European contemporary dance.
