What it is

The Institut français and Cité internationale des arts programme enables approximately 70 successful applicants each year to develop research and creative projects across all artistic disciplines during a residency in Paris between April 2027 and April 2028.

Who it is for

Artists and cultural professionals of all ages from any country who have been permanently residing outside France for at least five years and are engaged in recognised professional artistic or cultural practice.

What you get

A three-, six- or nine-month live-in studio residency at Cité internationale des arts in Paris (25-40m² including work room, kitchen, bathroom and sleeping area) with Institut français covering monthly studio costs; partner organisation provides at least €1100 per month residency grant, international travel costs, insurance, and visa fees.

What you need to apply

• Application must be submitted by a partner organisation (not directly by the artist). Partner must be a French cultural network abroad organisation or a cultural/artistic organisation based in France or abroad.
• Applicant must demonstrate professional proficiency in French and/or English
• Applicant must be fully available for entire residency duration and free from professional obligations during that period
