Dreaming Forward: Exploring Pathways to Child Welfare Jurisdiction - November 2026

What it is

A residential leadership program using the concept of Dreaming Forward to encourage participants to envision and plan for a better future for Indigenous children, families, and communities. The program explores Indigenous child welfare through storytelling, presentations, interactive workshops, and group discussions, covering topics including dreaming new possibilities, the current child welfare landscape, pathways to exercise jurisdiction, planning and community engagement, capacity building, and introduction to law-making.

Who it is for

Individuals or advisors responsible for visioning, developing, negotiating, leading, governing, or implementing child and family well-being for Indigenous peoples, with priority to Indigenous learners and those working for Indigenous communities and organizations. Applicants must be 18+.
