Artists in the Library

What it is

This grant supports free community-engaged arts programming delivered in selected Toronto library branches. Organizations, collectives and individual artists may apply to develop and lead public programming in partnership with library spaces. Applicants should propose projects that actively engage library patrons and the surrounding community.

Professional artists, not-for-profit arts organizations, or artist collectives based in Toronto who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons.

What you get

Up to $20,000 to create and deliver free community-engaged arts programming at a Toronto Public Library branch between September and December 2027, including paid artist fees, space, and library staff support.

What you need to apply

• Application form in TAC Grants Online portal
• Project proposal aligned with TPL programming policy and library branch context
• Project budget including professional artist fees
• Documentation of residency status if requested (Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or protected person status)
• Letter from graduate program director (if applicable, for graduate students certifying project is not related to program of study)
• Bank account information in collective name (if applicant is a collective and application is successful)
