The Centre national du livre offers three types of grants: discovery grants for authors or illustrators who have published at least one work; creation grants for those who have published at least two works; and sabbatical year grants for established authors or illustrators undertaking major projects. Grants support personal writing projects in French or regional languages, or illustration projects (comics or children's books). Projects must not have been previously examined by the CNL and must be unpublished at the time of examination.
Francophone authors or illustrators, or non-francophone authors translated and published in French, living in France for more than 5 years, who have published at least one previous work.
Eligibility unconfirmed. Check the residency and nationality rules on the source before applying.
