What it is

This funding supports the development of reading programmes for specific audiences. Eligible projects include a mediation programme (1 to 6 months, minimum 6 half-days) elaborated with at least one book-chain professional, that raises awareness of reading or written and oral expression, and provides for author compensation according to CNL rates; and a list of new books to acquire in connection with the mediation programme, excluding textbooks, university works, game books, journalistic interviews, catalogues, music scores, testimonies, apologetic publications, esoteric works, and self-help books. Book acquisitions may be supplemented by materials supporting reading access for the targeted audiences. Projects must be implemented in France, must not have started before the application deadline, must not receive Ministry of Culture subsidies, and must not have been previously examined by CNL.

Library networks, public libraries, associative libraries (excluding school and university libraries), cultural structures, hospital or medico-social structures, popular education structures, social sector structures, or businesses that have been operating in France for at least 2 years with at least 1 full-time paid employee, wishing to develop reading programmes for specific audiences.
