Project Involve is a 30-year-old fellowship program that selects 30 filmmakers annually to develop and produce original short films through a structured timeline of treatment selection, story development, pre-production, principal photography, and post-production. Participants apply to one of nine tracks: writing, directing, writing/directing, producing, cinematography, editing, programming, animation, or executive. The program includes mentorship, script consultation, equipment access, casting support, post-production services, and participation in educational workshops and industry events. A separate two-year LAIKA Animation Track is available for emerging animators.
Emerging filmmakers from communities underrepresented in film and entertainment who reside in the Los Angeles area.
