The German-French Co-Production Fund supports feature films produced jointly by German and French production partners under the Minitraité agreement. The fund is administered jointly by the FFA (German Film Promotion Fund) and the CNC (French National Cinema Centre). Eligible films must be feature-length, animation, fiction, or documentary films (minimum 79 minutes, or 59 minutes for children's films) planned for theatrical release in both countries. The co-production ratio between the two countries must be between 80-20 percent (or 90-10 in justified exceptions). Third country participation is permitted if below both German and French shares. German production must comply with ecological standards. Films must be archived at the German Federal Archives and made available in accessible formats (subtitles for deaf/hard of hearing and audio description for blind/visually impaired viewers).
