Jury-based federal cultural film funding for the distribution of artistically demanding feature films with significant German cultural character. The jury meets up to four times per year. The distribution company must contribute at least 30 percent of distribution costs as their own share, paid in cash. Films must have a minimum runtime of 79 minutes (59 for children's films), significant German cultural character, distribution costs of up to €600,000 (with exceptions for previously funded films), and their theatrical premiere in Germany must occur after the jury decision.
Commercial film distribution companies with headquarters in Germany or a branch in Germany if based in another EU or EEA state.
Open to artists in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands and others.
