Braunschweig Projects 2027–2028 Curatorial, Visual and Sound Fellowships

What it is

HBK Braunschweig offers fellowships for curators, visual artists and sound artists. The curatorial fellowship supports the development and realisation of a curatorial concept for the final exhibition of the Braunschweig Projects programme 2027/2028, ideally connected to a museum, collection, scientific or cultural institution in Lower Saxony. Visual and sound art fellows work on projects in the vicinity of HBK Braunschweig and contribute to the development of artistic practice. All fellows are assigned a mentor and must spend at least 8 months during the lecture period on site and participate in Welcome Weeks (19-30 April 2027).

Curators with initial curatorial experience, and visual or sound artists with a completed art degree and extensive artistic practice and exhibition participation.

What you get

A 12-month fellowship with a monthly stipend of 1,600 EUR, a rent-free studio apartment in Braunschweig for one person, a mentor, and the opportunity to present work within the university. Fellows must contribute 250 EUR per month towards living costs.
