Radical Sabbatical is a collaboration between University Collections at the University of Birmingham and Eastside Projects offering a six-month artist residency centred on research and development. The 2027 programme takes ideas of touch as a starting point, exploring touch through diverse perspectives including haptic and sensory experience, embodied knowledge, disability and accessibility, medical perspectives, digital touch, materiality and craft, and human and non-human sensory connection. Artists will propose work that embraces curiosity, experimentation and collaboration to interrogate and interpret academic research.
Two artists to undertake a six-month residency centred on research and development, working with academics at the University of Birmingham.
