Annual German Youth Literature Prize and special prizes awarded to children's and young adult books first published in 2026. Publishers submit eligible titles through an online submission system. One printed copy per title is required. Digital versions (ePub or PDF) are uploaded through the system. Special categories include the 'New Talents' prize for first-time translators and the 'Life's Work' prize nominated by publishers. Automatic consideration for the Kranichsteiner Children's and Young Adult Literature Fellowship occurs upon submission of a German-language children's or young adult book.
Publishers submitting children's and young adult books originally published in German or German translations of foreign works by living authors, editors and illustrators.
Open to artists in Germany.
