Braunschweig Projects Residency Programme 2027–28

What it is

Braunschweig Projects offers 7 artistic fellowships for 2027/28 (2 for sound art, 5 for visual arts) through HBK Braunschweig on behalf of the State of Lower Saxony. Fellows work on artistic projects in proximity to the university, are assigned a mentor from the fine arts faculty, participate in Welcome Weeks (April 19–30, 2027), present work within the university, and contribute to a joint final presentation (January/February 2028). Residence required for at least 8 months during lecture periods.

Who it is for

Artists with a completed art degree (finished between April 2016 and April 2023) who can demonstrate extensive artistic practice and exhibition participation, applying for sound art or visual arts fellowships.

What you get

€1,600 per month for 12 months (total €19,200), a rent-free studio apartment in Braunschweig for one person, €250 monthly contribution required for living costs, allowance for project and travel costs, mentor assignment, and participation in final exhibition.
