Eidolon Grant 2026

What it is

International grant programme for projects that explore, promote and conserve vernacular photography. Two categories: Contemporary everyday photographic cultures (digital images, social media, networked image cultures) and Everyday photographs of the past (19th and 20th century vernacular photography from private and public archives). Projects may take formats including essays, translations, books, multimedia work, exhibitions, workshops, documentaries, talks and masterclasses.

Up to €25,000 total distributed across two categories to support projects exploring, promoting and conserving vernacular photography.

• Abstract describing the project, up to 2000 words
• Short CV and project overview as single PDF
• Detailed project description PDF including timeline, objectives, methodology and visual materials
• Completed budget using official Excel template
• Writing samples or translation description (depending on project type)
• Signed consent letter from collaborating external institutions if applicable
