Lucie Foundation Emerging Scholarship

What it is

The Lucie Foundation offers scholarship grants to support emerging and professional photographers producing original and compelling still photography work in fine art, documentary, and photojournalism. Winners will be part of a traveling group exhibition.

Who it is for

Photographers aged 18 and over who are either professionals earning the majority of their income from photography, or emerging photographers who are students, in their first five years of career, or do not earn the majority of their income from photography.

What you get

$1,000 cash prize for emerging photographers or $3,000 cash prize for professional photographers in either fine art or photojournalism/documentary category; emerging photojournalism/documentary winners also receive a Sony camera and lens; inclusion in a group exhibition that will travel to House of Lucie Galleries worldwide.

What you need to apply

• Project proposal describing project start and end dates, project description, plan for completing the project including intended use of scholarship money, and five project goals, up to 1500 words
• One-page biography and/or CV
• Twenty digital images in JPG format at 72 DPI, each file not exceeding 4mb, from the existing or proposed project, 20 required
