Ubah Rumah Residency is an artist studio on Nikoi Island, a private island in Bintan, Indonesia. The name derives from the Malay language and means 'Home of Change', inspired by the nomadic culture of the Orang Laut of the Riau islands. The residency activates a Living Studio where each resident creates bespoke experiences for island guests.
Individual artists based in Southeast Asia whose practice engages with the intersection of art, ecology, and hospitality.
Open to artists in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China and others.
