Teaching Artist - Dance (Various Styles)

What it is

Full-time dance teaching artist position with the Life Lines Community Arts Project at Center for Family Life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Design and teach age-appropriate dance curricula in various styles to middle and high school youth in school day, afterschool and summer programs. Choreograph original dance pieces for three annual program-wide performances including an original production and two adaptations of children's literature. Collaborate with other teaching artists on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to overall program supervision and community building. Position requires a bachelor's degree or 4+ years teaching experience, strong dance background in multiple styles, ability to work with diverse students including those with disabilities, and bilingual skills in English/Mandarin/Cantonese or English/Spanish preferred.
