What it is

The Endangered Languages Documentation Programme provides grants to support the documentation, preservation and sharing of endangered languages around the world. Small Grants can support fieldwork, pilot projects, preliminary or supplementary research, the completion of existing documentation projects, and other activities that contribute to the documentation of endangered languages. Applicants are normally expected to have experience in language documentation, fieldwork and/or a relevant academic background, though individuals or groups with a strong interest in endangered language documentation may also apply.

Language documenters, endangered language community members, local scholars and students, and collaborative teams working to document endangered languages.
