What it is

The Madrid City Council scholarship programme allows young creators and artists to live at the Residencia de Estudiantes while pursuing creative or research work, participating in the cultural activities and dialogue between sciences and arts that the residence hosts. The programme has operated since 1988-1989, and nine scholarships are awarded annually across three categories: postgraduate students in social sciences and humanities (3), postgraduate students in natural sciences and technology (3), and creators and artists (3).

• Academic certification showing full degree earned by applicant
• Detailed account of the work to be carried out during the scholarship period
• Letter of support signed by an artist, creator or recognised professional endorsing the applicant's project
• Letter explaining motivations for applying for the scholarship
• Photocopy of National Identity Card, NIE or Passport, and if applicable, EU citizenship registration certificate
• Photograph
• Photocopy of scholarship credential or work contract if currently receiving another scholarship or employment
