What it is

The 30th edition of the International Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Prize recognizes and disseminates the best works of humanitarian and documentary photography that uniquely reveal social problems, injustices and/or human rights abuses, as well as the situations that cause or combat them. Photographs must tell a story related to health, natural disasters, humanitarian action, international cooperation, social exclusion, violations of human rights, armed conflicts, vulnerable groups, refugee populations, and/or migrant populations.

Who it is for

Professional photographers whose images denounce inequities, injustices and abuses, or bear witness to situations that cause or combat them.

Open to artists anywhere.

What you get

First prize €6,000, second prize €2,000, third prize €2,000, fourth prize €2,000, special prize €1,500, plus travel and two nights accommodation to attend the award ceremony and exhibition opening. Selected works will be included in a travelling exhibition and catalogue, and Médicos del Mundo will provide promotion for at least one year.
