What it is

The Smithsonian American Art Museum and its Renwick Gallery offer three fellowship programs for 2027–2028: SIFP Fellowships at SAAM for predoctoral, postdoctoral, and senior candidates; the Betsy James Wyeth Fellowship in Native American Art at SAAM and the National Museum of the American Indian; and the Audrey Flack Short-Term Fellowship for one-month terms. Scholars from any discipline whose research engages American art, craft, and visual culture are encouraged to apply, particularly those bringing new perspectives, materials, and methodologies.
