Tokyo Biennale 2027 seeks art and curatorial proposals for eleven diverse sites across Tokyo addressing the theme 'From Me to Us.' Projects must emerge through research, residency-based production, and deep engagement with Tokyo's people, history, and communities. The ten designated sites include temples, business districts, back alleys, historic wooden buildings, a train station, an entertainment venue, and shopping and wholesale districts. Proposals may take multiple formats: artwork creation, exhibitions, performances, video, tours, workshops, participatory projects, or research projects.
Artists, curators, researchers, collectives, and practitioners in related fields aged 18 or older from any country who can work in Tokyo on residency-based art projects engaging with local communities.
Open to artists anywhere.
