An open call for artists to investigate the human origins of their own artistic making. The exhibition Humain, trop humain – Act I seeks works that examine what happens in the studio—the repetitions, selections, mistakes, habits, corrections and decisions—rather than illustrating a theme. Artists are asked to bring the language of the studio into the exhibition space by describing their process: what occurred by chance, what failed, what remained. The selection will show 15 to 25 works and is based on two criteria: the work investigates its own origins rather than illustrating the theme; the work treats its human origin as subject matter, not as a badge of authenticity. All artistic practices are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, sound, performance, publication, textile, video and digital forms. Artists may submit existing works, adaptations or new productions, with a maximum of three works per artist or collective.
Professional artists, beginning or established, working individually or collectively, in any artistic medium.
Eligibility unconfirmed. Check the residency and nationality rules on the source before applying.
