What it is

The International Engagement Fund supports Australian artists and creative workers to undertake reciprocal international exchange activities with confirmed international partners. Supported activities include creative collaboration and development, cultural exchange and knowledge sharing, and labs and practice-exchange models. Activities can be in-person, online, or hybrid. Activities must align with at least one of Creative Australia's International Engagement strategic priorities and must last no longer than two years from the proposed start date.

Who it is for

Australian artists and creative workers (excluding contemporary music) who are citizens or permanent residents, or international organisations working with Australian artists, wanting to undertake reciprocal international exchange activities.

What you get

Funding of $5,000 to $30,000 for reciprocal international exchange activities with confirmed partners, covering artist fees, travel, accommodation, production, marketing and access costs.

What you need to apply

  • Project title, summary, detailed outline, timetable or itinerary, and description of outcomes
  • Projected budget detailing expenses, income, and in-kind support
  • Brief description of the individual, group or organisation applying
  • Artistic support material: up to three URLs linking to examples of work (maximum 10 minutes video/audio, 10 images, or 10 pages written material), or uploaded files in accepted formats
  • Biographies and CVs for key artists and personnel
  • Letters of support or permission from participants, communities, First Nations organisations, and Elders where relevant
  • Evidence of confirmation of international partner involvement
  • Evidence of adherence to First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property Protocols where applicable
