What it is

Radical Sabbatical is a collaboration between University Collections at University of Birmingham and Eastside Projects offering two six-month residencies centred on research and development. The 2027 programme takes touch as a starting point, exploring haptic and sensory experience, embodied knowledge, disability and accessibility, medical perspectives on touch, digital touch and technology, materiality and craft, memory and emotion, and human and non-human sensory connection. Artists propose collaborations with listed academics and develop work that interrogates and interprets academic research.
