What it is

Annual juried show devoted to historic and handmade photographic processes. Accepted processes include albumen, cyanotype, Van Dyke brown, platinum/palladium, gum bichromate, bromoil, salt print, tintype, ziatype, daguerreotype, image transfers, liquid emulsion, anthotypes, photogravure and chemigrams, as well as handmade prints made from digital negatives. Images must originate in an alternative process and must not be AI-generated. No limitation on subject matter. No image may measure more than 40 inches on its longest side. Juror is Amy Arbus.

Who it is for

Photographers 18 and over using historic or handmade photographic processes, excluding Soho Photo Gallery members.

What you get

Exhibition at Soho Photo Gallery in Chelsea from 2 to 20 December 2026, with prizes of $300, $200 and $100 for first, second and third place, plus honourable mentions. The gallery takes 30% commission on sales during the show.
