What it is

Spain's 30th annual award for documentary and photojournalistic series on health, humanitarian action, international cooperation, emergencies, social exclusion, migration, refuge, armed conflict, inequality or human rights violations, with particular value given to stories that receive little public coverage. The submission is anonymous; photographers submit 5 to 10 images with at least half made between 2025 and 2026. Photographers retain rights to their images.

Photographers aged 18 and over who can submit a series of documentary and photojournalistic work on health, humanitarian action, international cooperation, emergencies, social exclusion, migration, refuge, armed conflict, inequality or human rights violations.

What you get

First place €6,000, second place €2,000, third place €2,000, fourth place €2,000, plus one €1,500 special prize; touring exhibition and printed catalogue; travel and two nights' accommodation to Madrid for the award ceremony in January 2027.
