G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation Art Prize 2027

What it is

Open call for a large-scale permanent public sculpture installation. The winning proposal will be selected based on originality, site-specificity, conceptual coherence, clarity, relationship to place and context, ability to provide active viewer experience, scale and environmental integration, technical and constructional adequacy, public safety, sustainability and maintenance parameters. The selected artist will work February-May 2027 to create the work, which will be publicly unveiled in June 2027 and permanently displayed in an outdoor space in Agios Nikolaos, Crete.

Who it is for

Visual artists working in sculpture, installation, sound installation, mixed media, constructions with natural materials, land art, environmental art, ecological art, or works combining art and nature for innovative public space interventions.

What you get

€15,000 prize, plus all production costs and travel and accommodation expenses for the artist, with February-May 2027 to create the work. The selected work will be permanently displayed in an outdoor exhibition in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, and become part of the foundation's art collection.
