Sony World Photography Awards 2027

What it is

The Sony World Photography Awards is an international photography competition with four tracks: Series competition for narrative projects of 5-10 images, Single Image competition for standalone photographs, Student competition for photography students worldwide, and Youth competition for photographers under 19. Entries are free. Categories include Architecture & Design, Creative, Documentary Projects, Environment, Histories, Landscape, Perspectives, Portraiture, Sport, Wildlife & Nature, Animal Portraits, Lifestyle, Motion, Street Photography, and Travel.

Who it is for

Photographers worldwide may enter one of four competitions: a series competition for photographers with 5-10 image projects, a single image competition, a student competition for photography students, or a youth competition for photographers under 19 years old.

What you get

Series competition winners receive $25,000, a solo exhibition, and Sony Digital Imaging equipment plus international media exposure. Single Image competition winners receive $5,000 and Sony equipment plus media exposure. Student and Youth competition winners receive Sony digital imaging equipment and global exposure.

What you need to apply

• Series: 5 to 10 images for Series competition; Single Image: up to 3 single images for Single Image competition; Student: series of 5 to 10 images on the theme of Journeys; Youth: up to 3 images on any subject
