The SACO13 Contemporary Art Biennial invites visual artists to submit proposals for site-specific works to be exhibited at the Historic Melbourne Clark Wharf in Antofagasta, Chile. This thirteenth edition reflects on how South American territories, imaginaries and social structures have been shaped by logic inherited from First World imposed models. Seven projects will be selected by an international jury based on quality, relevance to the intervention space, and dialogue with the curatorial concept. Selected artists will undertake a 10-day production residency in Antofagasta to develop, materialise and install their works, and will participate in a territorial contextualisation journey to the Atacama Desert.
