What it is

The 30th edition of the International Humanitarian Photography Award Luis Valtueña recognizes and publicizes the best humanitarian and documentary photography that uniquely demonstrates social issues, injustices and/or human rights violations, as well as situations that cause or combat them. Photographs must narrate a story related to health, natural disasters, humanitarian action, international cooperation, social exclusion, human rights violations, armed conflicts, vulnerable populations, refugees, or migrants.

Who it is for

Professional photographers whose images denounce inequities, injustices and abuses, or bear witness to situations that cause or combat them.

Open to artists anywhere.

What you get

Prize money of €6,000 for first place, €2,000 for second place, €2,000 for third place, €2,000 for fourth place, and €1,500 special prize; exhibition in an itinerant collective show; catalogue publication; travel and two nights accommodation to attend the award ceremony and exhibition opening; and media promotion for at least one year.
