What it is

International art residency program offering 3 or 6 week self-directed residencies at Green Olive Arts studio in Tetouan, Morocco. Artists work in shared or private studios with weekly lunches, cultural programming and access to local artisan networks. The residency is artist-funded with fees ranging from 10,000 MAD (shared, 3 weeks) to 29,000 MAD (private, 6 weeks). Families and partners may accompany residents.

What you need to apply

  • Updated CV or Resume
  • Artist Statement
  • Portfolio: 5 files representing recent work OR 1 file with 5 or more works embedded (Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, PNG, mp3 or mp4), 5 required
  • Headshot photo of yourself (1200x1200px minimum, for promotion if accepted)
  • Project proposal: How you would like to use your time at Green Olive Arts during your residency
  • Experience interacting with people of cultures different from your own, and benefits and challenges of a residency in another culture (2 paragraphs maximum)
  • Reasons for wanting to participate in a residency program in Morocco
  • Creative medium or area of practice
  • Studio needs: furniture, tools, materials, equipment needed
  • Interest in sharing work or skills with local community through workshop or event (1 paragraph maximum, optional)
  • How you learned about Green Olive Arts
  • Availability during the week for follow-up interview
