A competitive self-directed residency program offering creative professionals private studios designed for solo creative work across disciplines including writing, music, visual arts, film, and criticism. Studios are purpose-built for different practices: quiet spaces for writers and curators, acoustically designed studios for musicians and composers, and spacious studios for visual artists and filmmakers. This is independent work without production support or access to specialized facilities; applicants must bring all required materials and equipment. Residents manage their own time and choose when to focus, collaborate, explore and create.
Individual artists working in any discipline who need 2 to 6 weeks of focused solo time to develop their creative practice.

2 to 6 weeks of private studio space in one of seven purpose-built studios in Banff Centre's forested setting, housing on campus, and some meals provided; a Banff Centre Arts Scholarship covers CAD $727.97 per week toward tuition and accommodation, with participant cost of CAD $1,001.39 per week after scholarship.
