Water & Rock Nature Art Residency

What it is

An artist-led nature art residency in the village of Kazaviti on Thassos island, Greece. The residency focuses on nature as the center of creative practice and aims to build awareness of the island's fauna, flora, history and cultural heritage. Multiple themed programs offered throughout 2026 including Spring Watch (medicinal plants), Plein Air Month (landscape), Summer Residency (Greek summer), Art Outdoors (hiking and nature inspiration), Forage & Hike, Autumn Light (light-focused work), and Art By The Fire (winter creativity). Activities include nature-guided walks, outdoor art days, social gatherings and teachings led by host Leah Heming, a nature guide and artist with experience in commercial art galleries, publishing, animation and island living.

What you get

A 22-day residency with private bedroom in shared housing, access to shared kitchen, weekly guided excursions, regular hikes, brainstorming sessions, and creative outdoor activities; residency fee is €1,250 to €1,650 depending on the month and level of tuition.
