What it is

Project 251 is a new experimental play that is a devised meditation on the future of the country, drawing on contemporary and historic reporting and writings by authors such as Alfred Jarry, Edward Lear, Gertrude Stein, Tristan Tzara, and Kurt Schwitters. The work aspires to nonsense that achieves its own resonance and beauty. It is an ensemble play where cast members will shift and share roles, engage in an intense devising process, work with heightened language, and be comfortable with non-narrative, illogical events, incoherent sequences, and disjointed language. Rehearsals begin January 25, 2027, previews open March 3, 2027, and the final performance is March 27, 2027.
