Blood Tree showcases evocative writing that takes linguistic risks and pushes boundaries of conventional language and genre. The magazine favors lyrical pieces with depth and resonance, seeking experimental work and pieces that are vulnerable or calculated. This issue has no theme. Maximum 2500 words per piece. Mixed-media submissions with images or audiovisual elements must be fully owned by the author. AI-generated works are prohibited. Abusive or derogatory submissions are not allowed. The publication is pro-choice, trans-inclusive, and anti-racist. Simultaneous submissions allowed if work is withdrawn immediately if accepted elsewhere. Optional detailed feedback available with $15 USD submission fee.
Writers submitting unpublished or previously published (in now-defunct publications) poetry, fiction, nonfiction, hybrid work, or creative nonfiction written in English.
