What it is

The City of Cape Town invites registered non-profit organisations to apply for Grants-in-Aid funding for projects taking place during the 2027/28 and 2028/29 municipal financial years. The programme supports exhibitions, temporary public art, visual and performing arts, heritage projects, productions and creative training initiatives. Proposals should focus on expanding access to cultural activities, developing creative skills and creating opportunities for emerging practitioners. Priority is given to projects benefiting young people aged 7–35 and vulnerable groups, including women, children, seniors and people with disabilities. Activities should be accessible to the public, preferably free or offered at minimal cost. Organisations must be registered on both the National Treasury Central Supplier Database and the City's Supply Chain Management Database. Funding is awarded for one financial year at a time; organisations applying for both years must submit separate applications.
