The 30th edition of the International Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Prize recognises and publicises the best work in humanitarian and documentary photography that reveals social problems, injustices, human rights abuses, and the situations that cause or combat them. Named after photographer and international volunteer Luis Valtueña and three other association volunteers killed in Rwanda (1997) and Bosnia (1995) during humanitarian work. Photographs must tell a story related to health, natural disasters, humanitarian action, international cooperation, social exclusion, human rights violations, armed conflicts, vulnerable groups, refugee populations, or migrant populations.
Professional photographers whose images expose inequality, injustice, abuse, or document situations that cause or combat these issues.
Open to artists anywhere.

Cash prizes totalling €12,000 (€6,000 first prize, €2,000 second, €2,000 third, €2,000 fourth, €1,500 special prize), inclusion in a travelling exhibition and catalogue, two nights' accommodation and travel to the award ceremony, and one year of promotion by Médicos del Mundo.
