What it is

A 3-month international artist residency in Helsinki focused on socially engaged, process-oriented and material-driven practices. Learning Materials is a collaborative project exploring how artists, cultural organisations and communities can build capacity and networks for learning from and with materials in sustainable and just ways. The residency focuses on research and experimentation with no designated output requirement.

What you get

Travel costs covered (1 return trip), working grant of €1,350 per month (€4,050 total), material budget up to €750, access budget up to €1,000, accommodation, workspace, and visa cost coverage. Residency runs 12 April – 11 July 2027 or 16 August – 14 November 2027.
