British Council: Sounds Unseen New Music Commissioning Programme 2027 (Remote)

What it is

The British Council invites creators from Germany and ODA-listed countries to create new collaborative works for radio broadcast as part of the Sounds Unseen New Music Commissioning Programme. Creators receive a commission fee, online mentoring and group sessions with UK-based facilitators, and support to develop legacy outputs such as educational workshops, showcase events, extended EP releases or documentary films that extend the impact beyond the original broadcast.

What you get

£1,500 commission fee, up to £200 for production expenses, up to £500 towards legacy outcomes (educational workshops, showcase events, EP releases or films), four online group sessions with a UK facilitator, three sessions with a Creative Programme Leader, two one-to-one online sessions, peer support from the international creator community, radio broadcast premiere, and access support.

• Show openness to collaborating with a creator you have not met or worked with before
• Demonstrate enthusiasm about developing new work in a cross-cultural context
• Show curiosity about creating work for radio broadcast
• Availability for all online sessions between November 2026 and March 2027
