A competitive residency program offering solo artists private, purpose-built studios in the forested surroundings of Banff Centre. Each studio is designed for specific creative disciplines: writers and curators may choose quiet, contemplative spaces like Hemingway, Henriquez, or Evamy studios; musicians, composers, and songwriters may select Valentine, Davidson, or Cardinal studios; visual artists, designers, animators, and filmmakers often choose Thom or Gerin-Lajoie studios. Residents manage their own time, choosing when to focus, collaborate, explore and create. The residency is designed for independent work and does not include production support, technical assistance, or access to specialized facilities. Applicants must bring all materials, equipment, and supplies required for their project.
Individual artists working in any creative discipline who want two to six weeks of focused, self-directed studio time.
Open to artists anywhere.
