Two-stage funding programme for short film and non-feature children's film producers. Stage 1: Application for recognition of reference funding based on festival success and awards according to the eligible festival list (Richtlinie D.6). Films must achieve minimum 15 reference points within two years of completion (5 points per festival participation, 10 points per award; films with 40+ points have points multiplied by 1.5 factor). Stage 2: Within two years of the recognition decision, producers may claim the grant funds for new film production or preparation, or up to 75 percent for company capital increase. The Film Promotion Act 2025 applies to films completed from 1 January 2023 onwards.
Producers of short films (maximum 30 minutes) or non-feature-length children's films (less than 59 minutes) with a residence or registered business in Germany.
