Britten Sinfonia runs two composer development programmes: Opus 1 for aspiring composers to write for chamber ensemble with mentoring and recording, and Magnum Opus for experienced composers to develop orchestral writing skills with performance opportunities. Selected composers work with programme directors, Britten Sinfonia musicians, and the wider team to create new works.
