What it is

Jeu de temps / Times Play (JTTP) is an annual competition promoting new creative work by young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists from or living in Canada. The 27th edition welcomes all electroacoustic genres including acousmatic, musique concrète, circuit bending, sound art, videomusic, live coding, soundscape, acoustic ecology, electronic and tape music, turntablism and generative practices. Works are assessed anonymously by an international jury. Five prizewinning works are selected, and seven participants may receive thematic awards recognising soundscape practices, female and non-binary artists, videomusic and new media, live electroacoustic practices, environmental or ecological audio practices, indigenous cultural background, and outrageous electroacoustic work. All participants retain full copyright; the CEC assigns mechanical rights for public promotion in the context of JTTP.
