What it is

Busan Metropolitan City invites artists and teams worldwide to propose a site-responsive work of land and ecological art for Eulsukdo, an estuarine island at the mouth of the Nakdong River in South Korea. The island is an important stopover for migratory birds and has been restored as wetlands and bird habitats. Proposals should respond to the island's ecology, landscape, history and changing environment while minimising ecological disturbance and demonstrating environmental responsibility. No on-site construction or installation is permitted during the peak migratory bird arrival period from November through February. Interdisciplinary teams are welcome.

Who it is for

Individual artists and teams professionally active in art, landscape architecture, architecture, design or related fields from around the world.

Open to artists anywhere.
