But They're A Nutcracker is an independent queer Christmas musical comedy about a 30-something bisexual woman who inherits her grandmother's cookie shop. A non-binary love interest is murdered and their soul becomes trapped in a nutcracker's body. The characters must solve the murder, find a missing recipe, and learn the true meaning of Christmas while falling in love. The production is seeking three roles: Endora, a transfemme Gen Z witch who is the protagonist's best friend (alto range); Judy/Grandma, a female character aged 40-60 who is passive-aggressive and resents her daughter (alto/mezzo range); and Santa/Dad, a male character aged 40-60 with Gen X divorced dad energy who is the main antagonist and performs a ska song.
