What it is

A two-week residency supporting the development of new theatrical work in a generative, artist-centred environment. Playwrights receive dedicated time, space, and resources to experiment, rewrite, and explore their work with experienced faculty. The program features two streams: Emerging Playwrights (fewer than 5 years of practice, fewer than 2 professionally produced plays) with structured instruction, and Established Playwrights (significant experience) with more self-directed time. Community and collaborative exchange are central, with faculty seminars, dramaturgical support, and opportunities to showcase work-in-progress.

Who it is for

Canadian playwrights writing in English at all stages of their careers who want dedicated time to develop new scripts.

Open to artists in Canada.
