What it is

An international photography award dedicated to Lake Kerkini in Northern Greece, a Ramsar-listed wetland. The award has four categories: Birds of Kerkini, Wildlife of the Wetland, Wetland Landscape, and Human & Wetland. All photographs must have been taken within Lake Kerkini National Park or its surrounding wetland ecosystem. Entrants aged 18 to 25 are automatically considered for the Young Photographer of the Year Award. The award includes an ethical wildlife code banning baiting, captive animals, sky replacement, compositing, and AI-generated or altered images, though AI-based noise reduction and sharpening are permitted. Photographers retain copyright and grant only a non-exclusive, non-commercial, credited licence.
