What it is

The Musical Theatre Writing Collective invites song submissions for its third annual new works cabaret benefiting transgender rights. The theme is Resilience. Submissions may include solo/duet songs or songs with 3+ singers; writers may submit up to 2 songs. Writers must be members of the collective. Songs should focus on resilience as explored by characters facing darkness, difficulty, conflict or obstacles, or celebrating despite hardship. Queer stories and trans writers are prioritised. The cabaret will feature an all-trans and nonbinary cast, band and creative team. Selected songwriters will be notified around December 15, 2026, and must submit sheet music by January 15, 2027.

Who it is for

Songwriters who are members of the Musical Theatre Writing Collective and write songs about resilience, with preference for queer and trans writers and stories.
