Bruno Maderna 2026 Composers Competition

What it is

A composers competition for works written for chamber ensembles of 2 to 6 players including piano, two violins, viola, cello, and contrabass. Works must not exceed 12 minutes in duration. Selected compositions will be performed and professionally recorded.

What you get

Selected works will be performed by Phoenix Ensemble on November 30, 2026, with professional audio and video recording. There is no entry fee, but selected composers must pay a 590 euro participation fee.

• Score in PDF format (from Sibelius or Finale)
• Orchestral parts in PDF format, A4 size
• Identity document containing name, address, nationality, telephone number, email, website, and short CV
• Statement certifying that the submitted work has never before been published, performed in public, broadcast, or prized in any composer competition
